Congratulations! Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham Opens New Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion
On Friday September 5, Honorcraft’s Jim Rapoport, Karen McNulty and Rebecca Jamison were thrilled to join more than 600 friends of BID-Needham in celebrating the opening of the new Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion in Needham, a Boston suburb. The three-story facility will give patients access to world-class cancer care without traveling into downtown Boston. Honorcraft collaborated with the Beth Israel Deaconess team to envision and create recognition art that mirrors the clean lines and contemporary ethos of the building. Simple Lucite plaques, accented with brushed aluminum, illuminate the generosity of the donors whose support made it all possible.
Jim Rapoport, Honorcraft President and CEO, “Having lived in Needham for 35 years, it’s exciting to know that patients can now receive first class care in a suburban setting. This new location will help to ease some of the stress associated with traveling to downtown Boston. Beth Israel and its donors should be proud of their accomplishment and we’re proud of our association with them.” “Early in my career, I worked in the hospital’s billing office,” says Karen, who is now Honorcraft’s Vice President for Business Development. “I am so proud of its evolution and specifically its new cancer center and surgical pavilion, which will provide vital specialty services to our community. We are incredibly honored to support recognition of the philanthropists who drove its construction.” “The new space is beautiful, with lots of natural light,” adds Rebecca, Honorcraft’s Director of LegacyCurator and Client Services, who has fond memories of volunteering at the hospital as a candy striper. “It’s an important new addition to my hometown.” The Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion will officially open for patients on September 22, 2014.
